Milling Demonstration Days!
The Mill at Anselma opens for its 2010 Season on Saturday, April 10th with a milling demonstration and activities dedicated to exploring the truths and myths of 18th century medicines and surgical procedures.

2010 Schedule of Events
Flour Milling Demonstrations
Milling demonstrations are offered on a monthly basis, and offer family-friendly, hands-on activities. Kids of all ages can assist the miller with sifting flour, pump water over a miniature water wheel, or experience our new Education Lab, which teaches visitors about the history of Pennsylvania agriculture and the simple machines that make up the complex Mill! Explore our 22 acres of pristine landscape with a scavenger hunt, and enjoy a relaxing stroll along the scenic Pickering Creek. The Mill also celebrates other historic trades and crafts each month, so read on to find out which ones intrigue you the most!
Milling Demonstrations and Demonstration Day activities run continuously from 10am – 4pm.

Preserving Innovation 2010
The Mill at Anselma’s 8th Annual Fall Auction
Saturday, September 18, 2010 5 – 9 pm
This extraordinary event will feature both live and silent auctions showcasing dozens of exciting trips, original artwork, antiques and collectibles. A light dinner, drinks, and musical entertainment are included. 2009’s auction was held at the stunning Chateau-style home of Bruce and Joan Cattie; please check back for details on the wonderful venue we have planned for 2010. We promise you won’t be disappointed!

Directions
- Local: The Mill at Anselma is located on Rt. 401 (Conestoga Road), ½ mile west of Rt. 113 in Chester Springs.
- From I-76: Take Rt. 202 South to Rt. 401 West. Follow Rt. 401 West for five miles. Cross over Rt. 113 and continue ½ mile. The Mill’s entrance is on your left.
- From PA Turnpike (I-276): Downingtown Exit: Take Rt. 100 South for approximately one mile to Rt. 113 North. Follow Rt. 113 North and turn left onto Rt. 401 West. Follow for ½ mile. The Mill’s entrance is on your left.

Amenities
The Mill at Anselma’s Visitor’s Center is equipped with restrooms and a gift shop. There is an outdoor picnic area. The Mill is wheelchair-accessible, but because of the historic nature of the Mill’s landscape there are areas with difficult terrain. Please call in advance for further information.

The Anselma Farmers and Artisans Market
The Anselma Farmers and Artisans Market is a collaborative project of Maysie's Farm Conservation Center and The Mill at Anselma. The Market features weekly children's activities on the green, with a focus on sustainable agriculture education and the active promotion of school gardens, farm-to-school, and whole food nutrition. A diverse array of products, from vegetables and fruit to flowers, coffee, cheese and meat, will provide one-stop shopping for anyone interested in buying fresh and local!
- Chester Springs Studio
Dedicated to the belief that artists and art-making play a vital role in our lives and in our communities, the Studio originates dynamic cultural resources for the support and enjoyment of art. The Chester Springs Studio is a visual arts center located in the historic village of Yellow Springs, Chester County, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
- The French and Pickering Creek Conservation Trust
The French and Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust was founded in 1967 by Samuel W. and Eleanor M. Morris. The Trust is a community based conservation organization. For over 35 years the Trust has led the way in preserving open spaces and protecting historic places in Northern Chester County.
- Green Valleys Association
Green Valleys Association (GVA) is the only watershed association in Northern Chester County devoted to the protection of water quality and quantity. Our stewardship area encompasses 155 square miles of watershed ground that contains the five watersheds of Stony Run, and Valley, Pickering, French, and Pigeon Creeks.
